Jim Jacobs, MD, PhD  |  Stanford University

 

James (Jim) R. Jacobs, MD, PhD, began his career at Duke University, where he conducted research in clinical and theoretical pharmacology within the Department of Anesthesiology and taught
undergraduate courses in biomedical engineering.

After later earning his medical degree at Duke, Dr. Jacobs transitioned into practice as a board-certified emergency medicine physician. His parallel entry into college health evolved from part-time volunteering into leadership roles at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Syracuse University, The Ohio State University, and the University of Southern California.

For the past decade, he has served as an associate vice provost and executive director of student health services at Stanford University, where he is also a member of the School of Medicine faculty.

An active member of the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø for over 25 years, Dr. Jacobs is deeply honored to be named an ²ÝÁñÉçÇøFellow.
