Marcus Hotaling, PhD | Union College
“Let’s Talk: Senior Leadership, Student Mental Health, and Counseling Centers”
Marcus Hotaling received a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University at Albany and has spent his entire career in college student mental health. He is currently the director of the Eppler-Wolff Counseling Center at Union College, where he also supervises Health Promotion and Accommodative Services. Starting in July 2026, he will also supervise Health Services. Marcus is active in local and national psychological organizations. He served as the Mental Health Section chair and secretary and led the Faculty & Staff Resiliency Task Force. He was also the mental health chair and president of the New York State College Health Association (NYSCHA) and served as president of the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD) from 2021-2024. He currently leads the mentoring program for AUCCCD.
