“Acu-Wellness Auricular Acupuncture Program (5-Needle Protocol)”
Tanya Sullivan, DNP, APRN, CNP, AAT, became a certified auricular acu-technician (AAT) in 2023. In partnership with Daisy Ferreira, RN, Tanya has developed a robust Acu-Wellness Program. This program provides individual and group auricular acupuncture using the 5NP protocol. This protocol uses a set of five acupuncture needles in the outer ear that addresses physical and emotional symptoms, related toxic stress, drug and alcohol detox, chronic pain, anxiety, PTSD, depression, trauma, shock, and more. Brown’s Acu-Wellness Program now has ten AATs and has treated thousands of students.
Tanya is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and licensed advanced practice nurse in Student Health Services within the Division of Campus Life at Brown University. She brings deep clinical expertise and a student-centered approach to care. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Massachusetts Boston, her MSN from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, and her bachelor’s in psychology from Providence College.
