In 2021, the St. Mary鈥檚 College of Maryland sought to rebuild their Wellness Center program. In early 2022, Mary Wince accepted the position to serve as the nurse practitioner for health services. Over the last two years, with the help of her director and colleagues, Mary has exponentially expanded services for the students. Due to the college鈥檚 rural location and student population of underserved minorities, the expansion of services continues to be one of Mary鈥檚 top priorities. She works to ensure that racial, ethnic, sexual and gender minorities, and people with disabilities have equal quality and access to care. Since her start in 2022, there has been a sixty percent increase in utilization of services, which is a true compliment to Mary and the Wellness Center staff, and truly represents their dedication to the students.
