Jan Gascoigne, PhD, MCHESÂ Â |Â University of Colorado Anschutz
Jan Gascoigne is the associate vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and an associate clinical professor at the Colorado School of Public Health.
With over 35 years of experience advancing young adult health and well-being, she leads campuswide efforts that support student success through inclusive programs, holistic care, and a sustained
commitment to marginalized communities. She is trained in restorative justice practices and health coaching techniques and uses these skills to support students and colleagues as they navigate academic and personal challenges.
Jan earned her Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Kent State University. She joined CU Anschutz in April 2008 to help launch the Colorado School of Public Health, where she taught Introduction to Public Health and the Public Health Practicum. In 2013, she became the school’s first assistant dean of student affairs and was promoted to associate dean in 2015. She was appointed the campus’s first assistant vice chancellor for student affairs in 2016 and promoted to associate vice chancellor in 2019.
Prior to CU Anschutz, she served as director of the Wellness Resource Center at Baldwin Wallace College, director of health promotion for the BACCHUS Initiatives of NASPA, and head coach of Women’s Field Hockey at the University of Rhode Island.
