Serving in a volunteer leadership capacity carries with it an implied fiduciary responsibility which, among other things, compels us to vigilantly protect the corporate name, image and brand identity of the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø (ACHA). Those who hold such leadership positions within ²ÝÁñÉçÇø— whether in coalitions, committees, task forces, sections, or affiliates, or as liaison representatives or editors, or on the board of directors — are very likely to be seasoned, highly respected, and well-known experts in the various facets of college health; hence, they may be highly sought after for comment or input on given subjects. It is important therefore, to acknowledge and recognize that opportunities may present wherein the spoken or written words (e.g. interviews, emails, listserv postings, etc.) of anyone serving in a volunteer leadership capacity, may be attributed to ²ÝÁñÉçÇøorganizationally as the association’s position, pronouncement or declaration, when such is not fact and was not the intent.

To provide further guidance regarding attribution and brand protection, ²ÝÁñÉçÇøhas adopted a Spokesperson and Stationery/Logo Use Policy [pdf] upon which it is the duty of all volunteer leaders to adhere. Compliance will help to minimize or eliminate misperceptions regarding officially pronounced or established ²ÝÁñÉçÇøpositions/statements and those of others in college health regardless of how well-intended those statements may be.

²ÝÁñÉçÇørespectfully asks that you review our Spokesperson and Stationery/Logo Use Policy [pdf] and apply it whenever faced with relevant circumstances.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
